Impact Statement for the GRIT Mentorship Program for High School and College Volunteers
At the heart of the GRIT Leader Mentorship Training program is the belief that every student, regardless of ability, deserves to feel included, empowered, and capable of achieving their dreams. For too long, students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have faced barriers that limit their access to the support and opportunities they need to thrive. Through this program, we are changing that narrative—one mentor and one mentee at a time.
This Mentorship Training program will directly impact both Autistic students and the mentors who serve them. For the mentees, this program will offer not only practical guidance but also a sense of belonging. Through meaningful relationships, these students will gain confidence, social skills, and resilience. They will be encouraged to set ambitious goals and empowered to overcome the challenges they face. As they build trust with their mentors, they will discover that their dreams are not out of reach but attainable through perseverance and support.
For the high school and college mentors, this program offers the chance to lead with empathy and purpose. These young leaders will learn what it means to advocate for inclusion, and they will leave the program not only with leadership skills but also with a deep understanding of the power of teamwork. As they witness the growth and achievements of their mentees, they too will grow—becoming champions for equity and inclusion in their schools, workplaces, and future endeavors.
In its first year alone, the GRIT Leader Mentorship Training program will create lasting impacts for hundreds of students, laying the foundation for a lifetime of leadership and resilience. Every interaction, every achievement, and every barrier broken will be a testament to the power of mentorship, and your support will make this life-changing journey possible.
With your help, we can ensure that Autistic students are no longer left on the sidelines but are instead given the opportunity to shine—because they belong, and they are capable of greatness. Together, we are building a more inclusive future.
Impact Statement for TeamGRIT Advocacy and Awareness
The TeamGRIT Advocacy and Awareness Program is at the forefront of a movement to challenge and transform the deeply ingrained low expectations faced by autistic students. Too often, these students are overlooked or underestimated, but we see their immense potential. Through our powerful awareness campaigns, we shine a spotlight on the unique strengths and talents of Autistic children and young adults, demonstrating that they are not only capable of success, but can truly excel when given the right support and opportunities.
Our mission goes beyond awareness—we offer families a roadmap to a future filled with possibility. By providing HOPE, we help families envision a path to higher education, meaningful employment, and independence for their children, empowering students to not just survive but THRIVE in adulthood. Every student deserves to be seen for their abilities, not their limitations, and we are here to ensure that they have access to the resources, mentorship, and guidance necessary to realize their full potential.
Your support can transform lives. With your partnership, we can extend our reach, ensuring that more families have access to the resources, mentorship, and guidance they need to help their children not only survive but truly THRIVE.
Together, we can build a more inclusive society where autistic students are celebrated for their strengths, talents and success.

Together, we can open doors to brighter futures where autistic students not only succeed but thrive in their careers and lives.
Your support will help transform uncertainty into opportunity, ensuring that every autistic student has the support they need to reach their full potential.
Impact Statement for Post High School Scholarships
Families of autistic students face an overwhelming financial burden as they support their children’s journey through college transition programs. These programs provide essential support for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in higher education and beyond. Yet, most of these students are not eligible for student loans and do not qualify to even apply for traditional scholarships because they are considered non-matriculated. This leaves families to bear the full cost of tuition, housing, and additional support services, often making the dream of higher education financially out of reach.
Cole and Matthew, two students in Syracuse University’s InclusiveU program, represent countless others who have worked tirelessly to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. Cole’s determination to become a college athlete and Matthew’s passion for academics and inclusion show the immense potential of autistic students. But without financial assistance, students like them are at risk of being denied the opportunities they have worked so hard to access.
Your donation can make a life-changing impact. By supporting our program, you are helping to lift the financial burden off families and opening doors for autistic students to participate in transition programs that set them up for meaningful careers and independent living. With your partnership, we can ensure that students like Cole and Matthew not only have a place in higher education, but also the resources to thrive in it.
